Maps Forum OverviewThis forum is designed for sharing forge maps with the rest of the community. Feel free to post any of your forge creations to share with us.
There are sections for 8 different map categories. Please post your map in the appropriate category so that it is easy to locate for other visitors to the site.
If you do post a map, make the name of the thread the same as the name of the map. This keeps the forums easy to read and scan quickly. Topics with long titles, titles with unnecessary symbols, or titles using all caps will be edited or locked to keep things fair for the other members.
In your map thread, be sure to include the following:
- Map/Gametype Description
- Link to Map/Gametype
- Screenshots
- Additional information
If the staff at Elite Forgers like your map enough we will feature it on our front page and archive it, with your permission.
Posting SuggestionsPosting a map is something that you should take pride in. You want it to look very neat and professional to get the most downloads, comments and feedback. If you just go out there and post a short text description with a download link you most likely won't get any downloads from many of us at Elite Forgers.
A proper map post does not require many things, but the things that it does require are very important in getting the quality passed on to the reader.
Here is a short list of important things:
- Have a detailed description
- Have embedded screenshots
- Have a link to your map, not your fileshare
When taking your screenshots try your best to get a good view of the map. You have to remember that you are trying to show off your map to people who have never seen it before. You want to make sure that by looking at the screenshots you can convince people to download
your map. Screenshots that do not show the map are useless and might as well not be added to your post.
Ok to start off, get the link to your map or gametype. Copy it. Then click here:
A little box should appear. In The top box paste the link you copied earlier. In the secong box type in either "download Gametype Here" or "Download Map Here" depending on what the link leads to. Then click were you would like this to appear on your post and click ok.
Ok now for the pictures. Once you go to your fileshare on Bungie.net, save the pictures to your desktop or a selected folder. Then click this:
A window should pop-up. Click browse and find the picture you want to upload. Then click Host It! Copy the second link that you see and paste that where ever you want on your post.
Using these suggestions and techniques will make sure that your map gets the attention that it deserves. Remember, the quality of the forum post is usually a good indicator of the quality of the map.
Happy Forging!
